Simon and Emma Bailey
Since moving back to Cornwall in 2006 to set up Bailey’s Country Store, life has not been dull for us. We have four children: Jack, Ella, Ted and Jonty, as well a dog, numerous pigs, chickens and Sheep at our home. The challenge of setting up and growing the store makes us immensely proud of the business, our staff and the wonderful customer base that supports us.
I am a Penryn boy through and through. I have been a member of the Bailey's team since 2013 as Saturday staff and have now joined the team as a full time member of the team. I adore attention to detail and love interacting with friendly faces everyday. When I am not in the store I am a keen skater and have recently passed my driving test so watch out!
I joined the wonderful team here at Baileys in March 2018 following a spell as a self employed gardener. Previous to that I worked at a well known local garden center. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to get back in the hustle and bustle of a busy retail shop and get the opportunity to mix with such lovely customers. I have 2 fantastic children Lilly-May and Harvey who keep me very busy and entertained in my down time.
I joined Bailey’s in April 2007 and have seen the store double in size. Our priority is still to provide excellent customer service and I thoroughly enjoy being a part of that – from keeping the shelves well-stocked to loading the customer’s car. My own dogs, cats, horses and ponies are a big part of my life and I am continually learning from them. I have a wonderfully supportive husband and two extremely talented children. My son has just graduated from Southampton University, while my daughter is currently studying Physiotherapy at Birmingham University.
I joined Baileys Country Store in 2013. Having run my own Deli I do have a bit of a passion for food and drink. I relish the interactions with our lovely customers and the amazing artisan producers that supply our shop. Away from work I enjoy many forms of exercise, swimming in the sea, running, singing, and socialising. When you come into Baileys please come and find me for a Foodie chat of recipies and all good tasty things! - just don't let Simon catch us if we chat too long!
Before joining Baileys Country Store in August 2018, I used to make world famous cheese at a local dairy - I haven't been able to get away from this wonderful cheese as it we sell it here! When not at Baileys I enjoy deep sea fishing and all things rural, although have not been able to convince Simon & Emma to set up a fish counter yet! I have 2 sons Conor and Aaron who are both studying for degrees at present.
Having returned home after 14 years of Middle Eastern adventures (and work!) with my family, I have the pleasure of being part of the dynamic team at Baileys Country Store. We love being back in Cornwall, reconnecting with familiar faces and landscapes and making plenty of new friends on the way. Not to mention our families new love affair with Penny's Pies, and those frozen bake your own pain au chocolat..... Weekends have taken on a new meaning!
